Water flute, El Salvador, Central America. Music and religious practice go often hand in hand. It can be a drum that is beaten monotonously, a rattle that has like a rattle snake sound, a single person´s advanced musical instrument that is only heard, or it can be an orchestra with choir. Here is a water flute from the Native village Nahuizalco in El Salvador where it was collected in the end of the 1890s.
